DHML

The MD/CEO of the Defence Health Maintenance LImited has directed all State Managers to initiate active engagement with the State Legions in their respective AORs. This is to foster more cordial relationship between the veterans and DHML as retirees do not often times understand their roles towards having seamless access to their health care needs.

One of these roles which is of utmost importance is registration with DHML of the retirees and their eligible dependants. It is important to reiterate to our military veterans that, the automatic registration with DHML they had for health insurance purpose while in service does not suffice in retirement. On retirement from service, they need to formally register with DHML as military retirees to enjoy health insurance coverage.

Consequently, there is the need for periodic education of the retirees through their Organization (the state legion) so that there will be a better understanding of DHML as it were, for the common good of the two parties. It will also douse the embers of rumours and unwholesome information about DHML as being propagated by some retirees recently.
