How the scheme works.
i. Enrollee wishing to participate in the scheme registers with Defence Health Maintenance Limited (DHML) and is assigned with a registration number.
ii. The employee selects an accredited Military Health Care Provider (HCP) within his locality and supplies all the necessary personal details. The NHIS issue an ID card to the enrollee and their eligible dependant.
iii. The Military HCP takes care of all the primary health care issues of the enrollee based on the NHIS benefit. The Primary Care Provider (PCP) will refer the employee to a Secondary Care Provider (SCP) or Tertiary Care Provider (TCP) accredited by the NHIS for specialized cases, with the approval from DHML using the established referral guidelines.
iv. DHML will pay the PCP a global capitation of the N550 per member per month, which has been pre agreed.
